Creative College Teaching Journal

A collaborative project of the TLC, the University Libraries, and the Committee on the Culture of Teaching & Learning (CCTL)

2008-09 Issue
"Capstone Experiences:
Successful Practices Across the Disciplines"

Descriptions, Evaluation, and Discussion of the Actual Integration of Innovative Practices into Undergraduate & Graduate Programs.

Articles are invited that describe successful capstone experiences such as courses, practica, creative work, etc., including evidence of their success. Discussion of the thinking and process involved in the experiences’ development is encouraged.

Submission Guidelines

Creative College Teaching Journal is a theme-focused, peer reviewed journal. Typically, only 20-30% of submissions are accepted for publication. Articles are more likely to be accepted if they:

  • Are written well;
  • Describe an actual application of theory;
  • Include research data that demonstrates systemic comparison of learning outcomes and student satisfaction levels with and without the approach;
  • Do not rely primarily on student course evaluation results;
  • Include a discussion of the reasons for employing the specific approach and the hurdles that needed to be overcome; and
  • Contain a bibliography of relevant literature and resources.
