The University Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) is dedicated to providing UNLV's teaching community—full-time faculty, part-time/adjuncts, and graduate teaching assistants—with resources and support needed to ensure that the highest quality of teaching and learning takes place throughout the University. For more information about TLC programs designed for those in each of these positions, including workshops and certificate programs, visit the TLC programs. Through individual, group, and campus-wide programming, the TLC keeps the teaching community abreast of pedagogical developments in research and practice; maintains and provides a wide array of resources on teaching and learning; and supports teachers in enhancing their teaching. The scope of issues and topics addressed by the TLC and its programs spans the full gamut of pedagogy, teaching and learning enhancement through the use of technology, the scholarship of teaching, and the successful management of faculty and graduate student responsibilities. Using a holistic approach to faculty and graduate life, the TLC is open to requests and expressions of need from the UNLV teaching community. The program schedule changes each semester and is advertised:
Those interested in developing personalized teaching strategies to use in the classroom should contact the TLC by phone (825-2293) or via e-mail at teaching@unlv.edu to set up an appointment with a member of the TLC staff. All TLC programs and services are free to members of the UNLV teaching community, and interested parties can register for each semester's workshops on-line. |
